Everyone’s a Critic

Death perched on a windowsill, watching the writer pecking away on his keyboard with agonizing slowness. This was taking too long. A long list of souls to harvest was getting longer by the minute. Unfortunately, the story being dragged from the next soul in rotation was fascinating. Death had to know how it would tun out. Once reaped, souls tended to lose focus on earthly tasks, whether they headed up or down.
Death leaned far over, peering at the screen, excitement reaching a crescendo along with the action of the tale… Gah, cliffhanger!
